Multiscale Mathematical and Computer Modeling for Flows in Networks: Application to Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases
This project has received funding from European Social Fund under grant agreement with the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT).
Numerical Modeling in Hemodynamics
Trakai, Lithuania, May 18-20, 2023
The workshop is devoted to an important trend in biomathematics and mathematical modeling in cardiovascular medicine. This workshop continues the series of conferences on multiscale methods and applications in engineering and biology. Such methods combine microscopic and macroscopic descriptions of the phenomena and are usually based on asymptotic and numerical analysis of the microscopic model equations. The application of these methods allows creating new more adequate and more precise models in biology and medicine. The meeting will present new trends in blood circulation modeling, numerical simulations of the blood flow and of the mechanical properties of biological tissues.
The workshop will bring together the well-known specialists in the topic and young researchers and students. The theoretical results will be presented together with the numerical and computer experiments.
Invited speakers:
- Luca Dede' (Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy)
"Multiphysics, multiscale, and computational models for the human heart: towards the construction of cardiac digital twins".
- Oscar Flores (Universidad Carlos III, Madrid, Spain)
To be announced soon.
- Ivan Fumagalli (Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy)
"Mathematical modeling of cardiac valves by a resistive method in physiological and pathological conditions".
- Alberto Zingaro (Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy)
"Modeling of cardiac hemodynamics: from the left atrium to the simulation of the entire organ".
